The first time I saw Tangerine Betty, I was instantly drawn to the adorable retro packaging and overall feel of the brand. I’ve always felt a connection to the beauty lore of the 50’s – a time made iconic by the glamorous, iconic women of the decade like Marilyn, Audrey, and Sophia.
One look at the Tangerine Betty site and I knew I wanted to be a Betty myself! How could I resist with a tagline of ‘the best thing to happen to lips since the kiss’? Beyond the adorable packaging are stellar formulas to hydrate your skin and lips while leaving a kiss of color.
The Skin Revivals ($14) are such a lovely formula. Borderline whipped, fast absorbing, and they smell delicious! I received Hula Honey which reminds me of summertime, suntan lotion, and a pina colada. It’s right up my alley in terms of scents. I also received Main Squeeze which is a bright and cheery citrus scent of tangerine and pink grapefruit. These formulas contain aloe, coconut and olive oils, as well as green tea leaf extract. They’re a beautiful emulsion that really help heal dryness without feeling greasy on the skin. Every purchase of a Skin Revival lotion comes with a Magical Lip Balm to offset shipping costs, too.
The Magical Lip Balms ($4.99) really do live up to their name! These are creamy and impart a punch of moisture as they’re formulated with various oils and butters. They go on clear and add a bit of shine. The scents are pretty delightful, too; I received Root Beer Float, Banana Coconut, Black Raspberry, and Sweet Peppermint. Personal fave would probably have to be Banana Coconut and Black Raspberry. I stash these everywhere…my bag, the couch, my nightstand, makeup bag…you just never know when dry lips will hit. And I don’t do dry lips. 🙂 At Less than $5 a pop, these are super affordable for an all organic lip balm.
There’s also a tinted variation of the Magical Lip Balms…The Pin Ups ($6.99)! Tell me the whole retro vibe isn’t just the cutest, I can hardly stand it! Probably my favorite is Paulina; a cool pink with a hint of shimmer. These feel so smooth on the lips and really hydrate and moisturize them. Elle is a slightly warmer toned pink, and Brigitte is a sheer nude-peach. The translation on the lips produces subtle tonal changes. These are a really easy way to incorporate a pinch of color to your lips. (All organic+mica)

I also got to try out the Foxies ($13.99) which are a very lightweight lipgloss. They wear a lot like a lip balm, zero stickiness and actually remind me a lot of the Vapour Elixir Lipglosses texture-wise. Personally, I like something heavier on my lips when it comes to glosses, so I layer these up with the Magical Lip Balms or the Pin Ups when I want a little extra color. You can add more product too to achieve a slightly heavier feel on the lips. I have the shades Heartthrob (a fuchsia pink) and Hottie (a copper-flecked peach). The color is pretty sheer, but you can definitely build it up.

I think Tangerine Betty is such a wonderful, wallet friendly line if you’re looking for natural products. Everything is small batch and made with love in Pennsylvania.
