Alima Pure Haul 2

Processed with VSCO with c1 preset

Alima Pure is easily one of my favorite brands. I have reviewed several of their products in the past, and I’m back with more! This time I got to try out a blush, loose eyeshadow, an eyeshadow primer, brow pencil, eyeliner, mascara, and a lipstick! Also, one of the softest blush brushes I’ve ever used.

They offer some of the purest formulas while maintaining a luxe feel thanks to sleek packaging, and their sustainability practices are so welcome in my routine (over 10 years of maintaining a carbon neutral footprint, being a certified B Corporation, and participating in 1% For the Planet). Not to mention, their products rival conventional products performance-wise.

The Luminous Shimmer Blush in the shade Leigh is easily one of my favorites. It’s the prettiest coral-pink with a hint of shimmer; it’s not too orange nor too shimmery, it’s juuuuust right. It brightens the face with just enough sheen to look lively. This has become my go to color when I want a cheery wash of color and could easily pass for my natural flush. Despite it being a powder, the formula is very finely milled and sort of melts into the skin. No chalky finish here!

I previously tried one of the pressed eyeshadows – which I loved – so I was really excited to try the loose one this time! The Pearluster Eyeshadow in Grace is a taupey-plum shade. It’s one of those colors that sort of works with everything. I also really like how this looks with my eye color because it has a slight purple shifting undertone. Depending on if this has a primer underneath or not, it can be a sheer shimmer or more metallic. Also, whoever designed this container is brilliant; there is a stopper inside the pot so the shadow doesn’t spill all over the place.

The Pure Eye Primer does a fantastic job of adhering shadows to the eyelids much like my former favorite, Urban Decay! The texture is less creamy, but it does an equally fantastic job of making the eyeshadow last all day. It also intensifies the color of the shadow (perfect for creating that metallic shadow like I mentioned above). All you need is the tiniest dot of this for crease-proof, budge-proof all day wear.

I received the Pure Eye Brows blonde brow pencil. While I’m not a blonde, this isn’t a terrible shade with my hair. It does pull on the ashier side though, so this would be perfect for blondes! I do wish there was a red or auburn shade because I really like the convenience of a pencil. I love this formula because it stays put – no disappearing brows! This is a true pencil and not a twist up so you need a sharpener.

The Pure Eye Liner in Patina is such a pretty light-medium shimmery brown liner. I love brown liners because they’re basically foolproof and perfect for making your lash line look thicker without looking like obvious makeup. With just a quick swipe and a little buffing either from a finger or a brush, you’ve got an easy and polished eye look. This color does seem to fade a little as the day wears on, but I don’t mind. Patina is one of those colors that even if you’re heavy handed with, it won’t look bad. It’s perfect for casual daytime wear or if you like a really natural look but still want definition around your eyes. I don’t notice smudging either which is nice. Like the brow pencil, this also needs a separate sharpener.

I received the Pure Mascara in brown. I haven’t used a brown mascara in a long time and usually opt for black. This is a really dark brown (I almost thought it was black) however my lashes are naturally dark, so black works better for me. This would be great for a natural blonde or redhead with light eyelashes. I love the wand for this mascara; it’s a hard plastic bristled brush and does a great job of defining and separating. The formula creates a very natural look with zero clumps; it isn’t super volumizing or lengthening, it just enhances what you’ve got naturally – think your lashes but better. This doesn’t pass the smudge test for me personally, but for what it’s worth this is a common problem I have with mascara. Given that it’s a brown mascara, I can easily buff out where it smudges.

The Velvet Lipstick in the shade Lucy is the perfect warm nude. I love the formula of these lipsticks, they’re a creamy (read: not dry feeling) matte finish and wear for a long time comfortably. I love the look of matte lipsticks but usually don’t like how they feel, however these lipsticks have my seal of approval in a matte formula. They’re made with squalane, seabuckthorn, and avocado oil to moisturize which explains why they’re so comfortable!

Once again, Alima Pure has won my heart.
