Butter & Me…the name alone makes me happy. It’s a cheery little company hailing from Colorado that specializes in body and skincare products that prioritize the use of shea butter. I love that their packaging is made from 100% post consumer recycled goods, too!

First up: Pure cleanse. This body wash is made with a large concentration of oils to moisturize your skin, and much to my surprise, it lathers! It really traps in moisture while you shower leaving your skin hydrated and happy. The only draw back for me is that it made the bottom of my porcelain tub a little slick as I don’t have any type of mat in the bottom. Not a huge deal as I’m careful while I shower, but worth noting.

Body Shine is a polishing body exfoliator made with sugar, shea, and dead sea salt. I don’t know that I’ve ever used a scrub containing shea butter, but let me say, I’m a fan. It left my skin so soft and hydrated post shower, like I had already put on lotion! While I was in the shower, the water literally was beading off of my skin – it really locks in moisture. I was also surprised that the sugar and salt granules were coarser than other scrubs I’ve used. I really liked that, as they felt substantial and didn’t dissolve upon contact.

I’m a longtime user of shea butter for moisturizing my skin, so I was super excited to try the Butter Melts ! They come in a little glass jar with a metal lid. When you first open them up, they look like piped icing on a cake – rich and decadent! There are 3 scents to choose from: Blue Sky (frankincense and lavender), Spring (cedarwood and geranium), and Sunshine (bergamot, ylang ylang, and a healthy dose of peppermint). The first ingredient in these is shea butter which is high in fatty acids and calms inflammation…great for conditions like eczema). I love how soft these make my skin feel! I put some on my feet at night and sleep in socks. It really moisturizes my heels which always seem to be calloused and rough.

Butter Spread is a cute little lip conditioner in a cardboard tube; you push it up from the bottom rather than twisting. It’s delightfully pepperminty and contains shea butter again as the first ingredient, followed by cocoa butter and coconut oil. I’ve kept this next to me while working ever since I got it! (Yes, I am that person who always has something on her lips and panic if I don’t have a lip balm on hand.) It leaves a slight sheen on the lips which is nice, too.

Skin Glow is a body oil made predominantly with coconut oil and kukui nut oils which are high in fatty acids. It also contains rosehip and cedarwood oil, both of which are suspected to aid in the lightening of stretch marks and scars. Cranberry seed oil is high in vitamin e supporting the skins elasticity. This oil has a very light delicate herbal scent and sinks into the skin quickly leaving it glowing from the inside out. I love the formula and texture of this.

Hair Bliss, oh how I love thee. There are some seriously good for your hair oils in this blend like pumpkin seed oil which is high in b vitamins which make the hair shinier and is thought to stimulate hair growth. Seabuckthorn berry is high in omega fatty acids and vitamin c which help to restore hairs youthful appearance. The oil blend also contains several essential oils, but the strongest note I detect is rosemary. This oil doesn’t seem to weigh my hair down, but it adds some shine and has smoothing properties. It can also be used as a scalp and hair treatment prior to shampooing.
