First, let me say, I think the name Au Naturale is brilliant for a natural cosmetics company. It’s straight forward and sets a great tone for what consumers can expect! What you’ll find in their products are simple ingredients without a lot of fluff or junk and hydrating formulas.
I got the Eternity lipstick in the shade Charm. It’s a pretty plum shade with hints of mauve. I find this formula to be really creamy and surprisingly long wearing. Often those two qualities don’t coincide. The packaging is a matte black tube and when you close it, it clicks shut thanks to magnets – no need to worry about it opening up in your bag! I want more shades of these lipsticks because they are so comfortable!
I also got the Swipe on Essential Eye Pencil in the shade Amethyst (can you tell I was feeling the purple tones?) This eye pencil glides on easily sans tugging and has good wear time. It’s a buildable color and has a slight shimmer to it. I’ve found this pencil to be really versatile, as I’ve used it not only as an eyeliner but as a lip liner with the Charm lipstick! I really loved how these paired together.
The Semi-Matte Powder Foundation reminds me of the original Bare Minerals foundation in terms of coverage and finish. I received the shade Sand. I always found Bare Minerals made my face feel weirdly tight light I had over cleansed and cling to every dry patch on my face. Plus it always looked almost glittery. Au Naturale swaps out the ingredient responsible for the shimmer and substitutes it for carnauba wax which provides hydration. It’s a sheer but buildable veil of coverage with a glowing (not shimmery) finish. This is great for days my skin is behaving and I don’t have much to cover, or as a setting powder over my foundation. I really love the overall finish of this. Worth noting: it isn’t waterproof, so if that’s something you’re looking for this might not be the right fit for you.
Softer look ft. the C2P, foundation, Amethyst Eyeliner, and Charm Lipstick (no lipliner)
I have always loved stick foundations for their ease of use and for being travel friendly. Typically, they have a slightly heavier coverage than a liquid, so they can double as a concealer which I really appreciate! The Zero Gravity C2P is no exception – it’s a cream to powder style formula with a medium to full buildable coverage. With this foundation, I find it’s really important to be well exfoliated and hydrated so it doesn’t cling to any dry skin patches. As long as your skin is well prepped, this formula is gorgeous. It dries down to a semi-matte finish, but it doesn’t look chalky and it wears well throughout the day without separating on my face. I find this applies best with my fingertips to help warm up the product. The product is housed in a matte black tube like the lipstick with a magnetic closure.
