Vapour Haul Round 2 (Primer, Bronzer, Blush, and a Lippie)

I have tried primers in the past but have strayed away from them in recent years. One part lazy, one part unsure if they even made a difference. I have been asked countless times about what my favorite primer is, which got me thinking…”should I be using a primer?”

So to indulge my curiosity, I got Vapour’s Stratus Soft Focus Skin Perfecting Primer* in the shade s904 (balances sallowness in skin). Much like the beloved Atmosphere Soft Focus Finish Foundation, it’s brimming with beneficial botanicals like camellia seed oil and the additions of pumpkin seed oil and papaya extract. Pumpkin seed oil is rich in vitamin e and omegas, while the papaya extract is excellent in healing skin abrasions and acts as a mild exfoliant. I find that this primer brightens the skin not only upon initial application, but over time as well. It also adds a slight tack which improves the adhesion of foundation. It has a soft blurring effect like you see with traditional primers, but this doesn’t contain silicone and somehow offers a smooth, matte finish. After 8+ hours of wear, my skin doesn’t seem nearly as oily as it normally is through my t-zone. Why was I primer averse again? 🙂

I love using the Solar Translucent Bronzer* in the shade Simmer to add some warmth and dimension to my face! Sometimes my fair skin can look flat once my foundation is on, so this is the perfect product to define my cheeks and keep my skin from looking washed out. I apply a little on my cheekbones starting from where the peak of my hair protrudes in front of my ear and swipe inward towards my nose (I cheat the ‘natural hollow’ up a little bit above where mine naturally is because my cheeks are fuller. This gives the appearance of higher cheekbones.) This bronzer has a hint of shimmer, but it looks natural once blended because it’s a cream formula.

If you ever used Nars Orgasm blush, you know how easy it is to love a shimmery, peachy pink cheek color. It gives a natural flush to the skin…and the good news if you were a fan of that particular product but haven’t found a green beauty dupe, I’ve found it for you! The Aura Multi Use Radiant Stick* in Intrigue is a very close match to the Nars Multiple stick in Orgasm. It’s a little more sheer, and doesn’t have as much gold shimmer to it but can easily be layered for more intensity. I love this for a pop of color on my cheeks! It looks very natural and fresh.

And the final product in this haul, the Shiva Rose Elixir Lipgloss*. I have a mild…okay major rose obsession. Rose everything. So naturally I wanted to try this lip gloss, and also because I love a sheer rose red lip color. There’s something so flattering and sexy about this color, it’s statement making without being garish. It’s also easy to layer over other lip colors to shift the tone. Personally, I love it on it’s own and how it adds a ruby shine to my lips. It’s also packed with antioxidants like goji berry and acai and hydrating thanks to Icelandic Moss, jojoba, and beeswax.
