A’del Natural Cosmetics

If there’s one thing I love when it comes to my makeup, it’s a short ingredient list with a long wear time. That’s often a tough order; however, somehow A’del magically pulls it off.

If you’ve read through some of my other posts, you may remember the one about me being a Sephora addict. Yeah. I’m picky with my makeup and expect a lot out of it, mainly that it look flawless and stay on my face. I often run into issues like becoming shiny throughout the day in my t-zone or surprise panda eyes from mascaras & eyeliners that touch my brow bone and transfer (even worse- when they run under your eyes).

I absolutely love what A’del Natural Cosmetics* is all about! They hand craft all of their products in small batches without the use of  parabens, synthetic fragrances or preservatives, nano particles, and petrol products. I love the simplicity and purity brought forth by this brand; straight forward and easy to read ingredients that perform like department store brands. Truly, everything I’ve tried from them so far is impressive.

The Translucent Setting Powder* is a finely milled loose powder in a package with a sifter which can be closed so you don’t spill precious product. The ingredients list is short: Certified Organic Arrowroot Powder, Rice Powder, Boron Nitride, Iron Oxides 77491, 77492, 77499. This does a fantastic job of keeping oils and shine at bay, but doesn’t make your skin dry out or leave you with ‘cake face’. I do get a little shiny on my nose by the end of the day, but that happens with every product I’ve ever used regardless of whether it is natural or not.

After reading the ingredients list, out of sheer curiosity, I applied a little to the roots of my bangs to see how it would perform as a dry shampoo. And you know what? IT WORKED. It’s not the most intensive ‘dry shampoo’ I’ve ever used, but anytime I’ve ever used them I’m really just looking for something to get me through the day until I can wash my hair that night. This is perfect for that, without the chalky residue that most dry shampoos leave behind. Love products that serve for multiple purposes.

The cream eyeliner* is l-o-v-e. I prefer a brush and pot style eyeliner as they allow for the closest application to the lashes without tugging and give the most precision (at least for me, anyway). I’m a cat-eye girl, always have been, always will be-and this is the product that dreams are made of to achieve that! Truly, it reminds me of the Bobbi Brown cream eyeliner, which was my go-to favorite for years. I haven’t had any issues with smudging or transfer, and I can make a really crisp line without hassle. Can you say, new favorite? Upon first use it seemed a little stiff on the surface: work your brush into the product for a few seconds to warm it up and it gets nice and creamy. The ingredients for this one: Certified Organic Carnauba Wax, Bentonite Clay, Certified Organic Jojoba Oil, Certified Organic Shea Butter, and Vitamin E Oil. Again, another short ingredient list: mama likes!

And last, lets talk about the lipsticks*. I’m that person who always has to have something on her lips (I blame my childhood chapstick addiction), so lipstick for me is a no brainer. Not only that, but I love it’s power to completely change a look; proof. It’s the perfect cosmetic to shift from day to night in a simple swipe, or take an otherwise sweet look and give it some attitude. The A’del lipsticks remind me yet again of Bobbi Brown…one of the few brands of lipstick I wore previously that didn’t leave me with weird wax lines and felt comfortable for daily wear. I received the shades Blossom (bubblegum pink), Barely There (a peachy nude), Nude (a nude pink), Flamingo (a fuchsia pink), Berry (medium pink with a hint of red), and Raisin (a rustic red).

It’s hard to choose just one favorite because they’re all wonderful, easy to wear shades; I can see these working on a variety of skintones. These are creamy and pigmented, made with: Certified Organic Castor Oil, Certified Organic Jojoba Oil, Certified Organic Beeswax, Fractionated Coconut Oil, Certified Organic Carnauba Wax, Certified Organic Shea Butter, Vitamin E Oil (gluten free), May Contain: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Carmine, Iron Oxides 77491, 77492 or 77499. They are actually hydrating enough that I don’t feel the need to pre-apply lip balm the way I usually do with lipsticks- after seeing that ingredient list, it’s easy to see why! These feel like a soothing lip balm, and the wear time is phenomenal. Raisin specifically leaves behind a beautiful boysenberry stain! (Worth noting: the shades Blossom, Flamingo, Berry, and Raisin contain carmine for those who are sensitive or prefer to avoid it).
