Autumn Inspired Smokey Eye

The summer heat still lingers, but I’m daydreaming of fall and over-sized sweaters. Burnt oranges, cocoa, and plum shades dance through my head on the daily now, so until the cooler weather arrives, I’ve decided to test drive some fall inspired looks!

On my lids, slightly above the crease, and smudged under my lower lashes, I used Berry Matte*; on my inner corners some Tan Rose* to keep my eyes looking bright (I have deep set eyes, so sometimes too much dark shadow can make them look sunken in.)  I also used a little Tan Rose on top of my cheeks as a highlighter!

To amplify the intensity of the darker shadow, I applied 100% Line Liquid Eyeliner* & 100% Lash*; both are an inky black, perfect for a dramatic eye look. (In case you missed it, here’s my full haul and thoughts on RootPretty)

For my brows, I used Plume Nourish & Define Brow Pomade* in the shade Autumn Sunset (you can catch my full review of it here, use my code WHOLLY30 to take 30% off your order!). Because this smokey eye is a bolder look, I amped up my brows more than usual to so they would better match the overall look.

This was my first time using Vapour Beauty’s Atmosphere Soft Focus Foundation* (s123) and I was really surprised by it! It has a very liquid consistency, but because of this it buffs out like a dream. It has a light-medium coverage and is VERY hydrating. This is perfect for a glowy/dewy finish, and somehow once it’s on it seems to blur your skins texture and tone and looks like your skin but better. Because of the ingredients list, I skipped my usual moisturizer because this practically doubles as skincare. (The top ingredient is camellia seed oil, known for being high in omega’s and antioxidants!)  I would imagine using this over time would improve your skin-I’ll follow up with more time and usage. I also used the Illusionist Concealer* (023), which has a creamy consistency and is very brightening; perfect for my perpetually purple under eyes!

I finished out the look with my Antonym Powder, a little Beautycounter Bronzer on my cheeks, and Vapour’s Siren Lipstick in Bold*. I can easily see this being a shade I reach for often, it’s a gorgeous plummy red shade!
