Beautycounter Volume and Shape Line

I have long, baby fine hair. If I don’t work to give it some life, it will hang limply on my head like Gollum from Lord of the Rings. Precious.

As a professional hairdresser, I know the power of finding the right products and tools for the job. Over the years I’ve used countless brands; searching for something to plump my hair up without making it feel like hay, as so many volumizing products tend to do. (If you lived through the mousse era, I’m looking at you! You get what I’m saying!!!)

A few years ago I was introduced to Beautycounter* (LOVE), and they’ve since expanded their line to include hair care.  Being a hairdresser, you KNOW I was all over this new launch, carefully reading what each product promised to do and scanning the ingredient lists. I was gifted the whole volumizing line…it didn’t disappoint.

The volumizing set has a light, citrusy scent which I like because it smells nice and clean, but it’s mild enough not to clash with whatever perfume I put on later. First thoughts…the shampoo left my hair feeling really clean. Almost squeaky clean. Once I put on the conditioner, it smoothed things back out so my hair wasn’t tangly anymore. Somehow the conditioner manages to hydrate without weighing my hair down. Score. (note: not only is my hair fine, it’s DRY like the desert)

The last product in the volumizing line is the Volume & Shape mist. I feel this product needs to be prefaced by saying a little goes a loonnggggg way. I usually use it just on my roots and blow dry so I get some lift and let the ends air dry, however, you can use this all over your hair and blow-dry for some serious head-turning volume.

Final takeaway; I really enjoy this whole line. As far as volumizing products go, I feel like Beautycounter really created a product that volumizes without stripping the moisture out of your hair.
